What a busy and brilliant first week back after half term! While the teachers kicked off the week with an eye-opening INSET day, Class 3 jumped straight back into action on Tuesday by recapping our class expectations and easing into our new class jobs. In English, we turned into literary detectives, using clues from the front cover to predict the exciting plot of our new class book, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. Our P.E. lessons got us moving with the start of our new basketball and netball topics, where we worked on mastering essential skills like pivoting and the chest pass. In R.E., we began exploring the concept of Incarnation by looking at the symbolism of the Holy Trinity during Jesus' baptism, while in Maths we got hands-on with multiplication and division by building arrays, sharing, and grouping. To wrap up the week, we brought our Science topic on light to a thrilling conclusion with a hands-on investigation; using a lightometer to measure how much light different fabrics blocked, we discovered that the thick carpet in our reading corner blocked the most light, and we finished up by evaluating just how fair our test really was.
