Children from The Richard Crosse CE Primary School, Kings Bromley today visited Kings Bromley Nursing Home to brighten up the gardens as a gift to the residents.

Year 6 children, who finished their SAT’s last week, chose to spend some time weeding, tidying, and planting in the gardens at the Home, which has close links to the school.

Kings Bromley village takes part in the annual Open Gardens event every year, and the children thought it would be a nice idea to take the gardens to the residents of the Nursing Home, many of whom are not able to get out.  They spent their time tidying up the grounds, as well as planting some beautiful hanging baskets for residents to enjoy.

Headteacher Miss Jarrett said, “It was extremely thoughtful of the children to want to do this, we are really proud of the sense of community our children have, which is part and parcel of being a small village school.  The children all enjoyed themselves, and hopefully have brought some enjoyment to the residents too.”
