Pupils have had great fun creating and painting their own clay bricks as part of an art installation at the school. The project has been supported by local company Supporting Change Ltd, a long time collaborator with Richard Crosse. The aim was to bring pupils together with a local artist to create a long lasting art installation for the school, which would incorporate the school's Christian beliefs. Mr Philip Evans, (www.roundhousegallery.co.uk) worked with the children to paint their own clay brick, which will now be fired in a kiln, before being returned to the school to create a sculpture of a cross in the grounds, which will be installed in late September 19.
Headteacher Miss Jarrett said "It's been great to have a renowned artist coming into the school to work with the children, and they have all loved taking part in creating something that will stand in the school grounds long after they have left us. The installation will remind us both of our commitment to God, and of our loving school community. I'm very proud of the work the children have done so far, and can't wait to see the final sculpture revealed."
