Image of Summer Term 1 - Week 4

This week, in Class 3, we have moved onto a new English focus learning how to write ‘Explanation Texts’. We have been using our Geography knowledge to explain how rivers are formed using vocabulary such as confluences, tributaries, ox-bow lakes and lots more. In Maths, Year 3 have been comparing, ordering and adding fractions whilst Year 4 have been learning how to add and subtract money. We have found it useful to draw bar models and use part-whole models. In PE, we have been practising our catching skills in cricket specifically looking at long barriers and short barriers as well as practising our bowling techniques. We have had great fun in Science learning about the 3 types of rocks, sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous. In groups, we made our own sedimentary rocks using white, dark and milk chocolate… they were tasty rocks! A special thank you to Isla and her family for bringing in their adopted pet duckling for Class 3 to look at.

A great week Class 3, only 1 more week left. Keep up the fantastic work.
