We have had a really busy week, this week but it has been lots of fun too. We have started our Science topic, learning all about animals and their habitats. For our first lesson we got to go outside and explore the school grounds looking for mini-beasts. We found lots of exciting creatures and were able to discuss the conditions of where we found them. We then moved on to thinking about ocean animals, looking at the different types of creatures found in the ocean and how their bodies are made to help them survive in their environment. In Maths, Year 1 have been counting forwards and backwards to 20 and using tens frames to help them represent numbers, whilst Year 2 have been counting forwards and backwards to 50. In Phonics, Year 1 have been learning the graphemes ff, ll, ss, zz, ck and nk. Year 2 have been introduced to the -dge and g graphemes which make a j sound. Ask them to spell out some of the words that they have learnt!
