This week we have enjoyed using the school laptops. We remembered how to logon and off and have had a go at typing the alphabet in lower and upper case. We are now getting much more confident using them independently. In English, we have written our own stories based on Boa’s Bad Birthday. We are going to be using the targets we have been given to make our writing even better next time. In Maths, Year 1 have been learning how to use the <, > and = signs to compare numbers, whilst Year 2 have been comparing and ordering objects and numbers. We have played games and answered problem solving questions involving the operations. As part of our phonics sessions, Year 1 have been learning the oi, ay and oy graphemes. Year 2 have enjoyed learning about the gn and wr graphemes. They are able to identify the words with the different graphemes and describe where in the word the grapheme falls. Ask them to talk to you about it. We loved talking about Christmas earlier in the week and having a go at designing our own Christmas cards. We can’t wait until we start our Christmas activities properly! Well done to our star of the week and winner of the 5X reader draw!
