This week, we have come to the end of our work on Katie in London. Year 1 have independently retold the story and Year 2 have written their own adventures for Katie and Jack. In Maths, Year 2 have been learning how to divide by sharing and grouping. They are getting better at using their multiplication knowledge to help with this but it is something that we still need to work on. Year 1 have continued their work on subtraction and had a go at solving the calculations using different methods. In Phonics, Year 1 have been learning the ew grapheme, as in new and few. Year 2 have been learning how to use apostrophes for possession and how to contract words. In Geography, we have continued our work on the UK, looking closely at what our village is like and comparing it to bigger cities. We have also looked at ariel photographs of the four countries of the UK and used our knowledge to try and guess the capital city.
