This week, in Class 3, we’ve been learning how to write sentences in the past tense, make effective verb choices, use pronouns for cohesion and use inverted commas to punctuate speech. These objectives have been linked to our Roman myth of ‘Oedipus and the Sphinx’. In Maths, Year 3 and 4 have been learning how to multiply and divide 2-digit and 1-digit numbers. We have used a range of methods to help us including a place value grid, part-whole parts and formal written method such as column and bus stop. In Science, we have been learning how sound travels through solids. We investigated this by making string telephones. There were lots of scientific questions being asked! We started our history topic this week learning ‘What did the Romans give to Britain?’. During our history lesson, we explored the reasons why Emperor Claudius chose to invade Britain. Overall, a great busy week.
