Summer Term 1 - Week 1

Welcome back Class 3.

We have had a brilliant week full of learning and laughter. In Geography, we have been learning about rivers and the journey a river takes from its sources to the mouth. We have linked our English topic to Rivers and are learning how to write an explanation text about how rivers travel from mountains to the sea. Our main focus this week has been learning how to use fronted adverbials in our writing. In Maths, Year 4 have been dividing 1 and 2 digits by 100 and making wholes using tenths whilst Year 3 have been adding and subtracting capacities. In PE, our topic this term is cricket and we have learnt the skills long barrier and short barrier to help us retrieve the ball when fielding. Overall a great first week back, keep up the great work!
