With hard work and full commitment, it has certainly been a final week of Summer 1 to remember. Both Year 5 and 6 have been completing assessments across the core subjects. Year 6 were incredibly impressive in their SATs and showed brilliant dedication and pride throughout. A special treat of going bowling was well earned.
More instruments than many could name were clanging, chiming and thumping during music this week as the class explored composing their own pieces in groups. In History, the Year 5's used a variety of sources to find relevant information to answer the set of questions provided to them as part of another group based task. All the information related to crime and punichment in medieval Britain.
A wonderful afternoon's worth of cricket took place on Tuesday on the Kings Bromley Cricket Ground with some impressive bowling, fielding and batting taking place. It was brilliant to see so many of the girls bowling with unmatched ferocity and skill to get more than a few wickets. But most impressive was the wonderful sportspersonship on show throughout the game with the majority of the class.
Today, in French the children used Vector drawings to design an olympic stadium for the 2024 Paris olympic games. They used their knowledge of the sports they have been learning in French to label their work. They also learned that the Paris olympics mascot this year is a little character called "Phryges" which is based on the French phrygian red caps worn after the French revolution.
Please enjoy a very well-earned two week break and remember, if you would like to, you can learn the audition lines for our play that are posted in Google Classroom.
