This week in class, we’ve had an exciting time exploring a range of engaging topics across the curriculum! In English, we stepped into the shoes of Bob, The Man on the Moon, and imagined what a day in his life might be like. We planned and wrote diary entries, bringing Bob’s experiences to life. As part of our Geography topic, we investigated the typical weather of equatorial countries like Somalia and wrote about what it would be like to visit. We also explored countries near the North Pole, focusing on Tromso, Norway, and compared its weather and activities with those in the United Kingdom. To bring this to life, we created scenes of typical activities in Tromso using black card and white paper. We drew the activities on the snowy hills and added the magical Aurora Borealis with chalk and oil pastels. This was a creative and engaging way to conclude our Geography topic on weather patterns. In RE, we have been learning about the 99 beautiful names for Allah. We discovered that in Islam, these names represent different qualities of Allah, such as kindness and wisdom. We also found out that Muslims use 99 prayer beads to represent these names, which helped us better understand this important aspect of the Islamic faith. In Maths, we’ve been working hard on adding and subtracting two 2-digit numbers using base 10 blocks. This has helped us build our understanding of place value and improved our calculation skills. It’s been a brilliant week of learning, and we can’t wait to continue exploring more exciting topics next week!
