Class 1 spring 1 Week 5 2025

We have had a lovely week celebrating the lunar New Year. The children have learnt about how people enjoy fireworks, feasts, dragon dancing and giving friends and families red envelopes with money inside for good luck and prosperity. The children compared how New Year celebrations are similar or different to their own.

They were really excited about making Chinese lanterns and dragons. They practised using chop sticks. 
 

Today, the children have taken part in spirituality day. They have made emotion masks and talked about what makes them feel happy. The children filled a bucket with gold coins representing acts of kindness. They talked about where they think god lives and went outside to explore nature. We explored the analogy of being like a jigsaw and putting the pieces together to make us feel whole!

I hope you enjoyed the rocket launch this afternoon. A huge thank you to Mr Parker who has been helping us out whilst Mrs Compton has been recovering. The children have really enjoyed his science lessons. We wish him all the best for the future!
