Class 2-Spring 1- Week 6

A Week Full of Space and Fun! 

What an exciting week we have had! We have been busy learning, exploring, and having lots of fun. Here’s what we got up to:

This week, we finished our space topic through an independent write about three incredible astronauts – Neil Armstrong, Helen Sharman, and Tim Peake. We wrote about their amazing journeys and how they explored space.

In Maths, we have been working on arrays, repeated addition sentences, multiplication sentences, and commutativity. We used pictures and objects to help us understand how multiplication works in different ways. It was great fun spotting patterns and solving tricky problems!

On Tuesday afternoon, we learned all about internet safety. We talked about how important it is to ask a trusted adult if we ever feel unsure about something online. We also learned how to stay safe and be kind when using the internet. We discussed different online scenarios and thought about the best ways to keep ourselves protected when playing games, watching videos, or talking to friends online.

Space Centre Adventure!
On Wednesday, we had an amazing trip to the Space Centre! One of the most exciting parts was the planetarium, where we learned about the life of an astronaut, from training to space exploration. We saw how astronauts prepare for their missions, what they eat in space, and how they sleep in zero gravity! After that, we explored the Space Centre and saw some incredible things, including giant rockets, a real piece of the Moon, and a miniature lunar module. We even had the chance to step inside a launch tower and see what it would be like inside a rocket before take-off. It truly felt like we were real space explorers!

On Thursday, we had an amazing time at the school disco! We played games, danced to our favourite songs, and had lots of fun with our friends. Everyone showed off their best dance moves! It was the perfect way to celebrate all our hard work this term.

To finish the week, we are writing about our trip to the Space Centre. We can’t wait to share all the exciting things we saw and did! We are using our best descriptive writing to make our recounts exciting and full of detail. Some of us are even imagining what it would be like to travel to space ourselves!

It has been a fantastic week full of learning and fun. We can’t wait for more exciting adventures!
