It's been a busy and productive week filled with learning, creativity, and a little bit of baking fun. This week in maths, we've been diving into the world of shapes! We've focused on finding the perimeter of rectilinear shapes and polygons. It’s been fantastic to see everyone working together to measure sides and calculate the total distance around these shapes. In English, our focus has been on developing our writing skills. We've been practicing writing sentences in the third person, past tense, and using conjunctions to link our life as a Roman soldier. We also explored the importance of paragraphs and how to use subheadings to organise our writing. Our RE lessons this week have been very insightful. We've been learning about communion services and what they look like. We’ve had some thoughtful discussions and prepared a list of questions for Father Jeremy, who will be visiting Class 3 soon. We've kicked off our new DT topic, "Seasonal Foods," with a delicious start! We began by exploring what seasonal foods are and why they are important. To put our learning into action, a group of children baked some fantastic fairy cakes using ingredients that are available in supermarkets all year round. In art, we've been putting the finishing touches on our pastel projects. The children have used pastels in a variety of creative ways, and the results are truly impressive. We’ve seen some wonderful and unique pieces of art this week, and I’m so proud of everyone’s hard work and creativity. Alongside all of our fantastic learning, we’ve also been busy rehearsing for our upcoming play. Everyone is working hard to learn their lines and practice their roles.
Well done, Class 3, for another amazing week!
