Monday began by a visit to a Mandir (Hindu temple), Mosque (Islamic place of worship), and the Gudwara (Skih place of worship). At each of these locations, we learnt new knowledge about each religion and why these places are so sacred.

Our new English topic is based on the book Monsterology: A complete book of beasts. We explored the text in teams and developed our oracy skills while gaining familiarity with the new text. In Mathematics, we have been learning about volume. Firstly, counting bocks (cubes). Then, we used the formular: L x W x H. To gain complete fluency with this, sometimes the volume was given and we had to work backwards to find the length.

In Science, we created a double page spread about an animal of our choice and explain their features using appropriate secondary sources of information that we researched online.

On Thursday, Class 4 spent a day at Richard Crosse enjoying learning outdoors. From designing our new forestry area to an energetic maths scavenger hunt our class had a blast. A favourite for many was recreating famous constellations and delving deeper into their mythilogical origins. In the afternoon, we investigated the ancient Greek tradition of the Olympic Games.

A message from Madame Stevens (French teacher): The children amazed me by creating detailed sentences to say where items were in each room of the house. They remembered prepositions we had learnt from an earlier topic to explain exactly where these objects are located in a room in French - lots of great writing skills and excellent pronunciation - lots of superstars on the chart today!!! Tres buen!
