Class 1 spring 2 Week 6

This week we have been reinforcing the digraph- oa and the er sound in Monster Phonics.

The children have been practising the high frequency words one, some, come and were!

Reception have been selecting an object out of the treasure chest and writing sentences about their object. I have been impressed with their use of connectives.

Pre-school have had fun playing the djembe drums, copying rhythms and making up their own rhythms for peers to copy.

The whole class have enjoyed learning about farm animals, their names, their homes on the farm and their features which help them to move, eat or keep warm or cool.

The children matched and named mothers and their young. They have made sheep and played with our farm.

Next week the children will be making Easter bonnets. The children are welcome to bring in bits and bobs to decorate them. We will be having lots of fun as well as learning about the meaning of Easter and how people celebrate at this time of year.

Please remember to apply sun cream to your child before school and send them to school with a sun hat.
