Our penultimate week of this half term has been a great success with many of our foundation units nearing a close.
In mathematics, we finished our multiplication and division unit and have begun exploring fractions. After a recap lesson on understanding what fractions are, we have learned how to simplify and find equivalent fractions.
In English, we have been investigating non-chronological reports and identifying language features and organisational features. In the following lessons, we planned our independent write based on Charles Darwin and researched key information about the various areas being covered. On Friday, we began by writing our introduction and early life sections.
In our whole class reading, we have been learning how to use A.P.E. to explain our answers and provide evidence from the text. This has helped to explain how we arrived at the answer we chose.
Across the wide curriculum, we have been continuing our personal training/coaching topics in PE. In PSHE, we discussed the effects that smoking, vaping and alcohol has on our body. For RE, we completed our end of unit assessment. To end our French topic on transport, we formed sentences describing our journeys and recalled them verbally.
