We have had a mindful, creative week in Class 3 where we have celebrated each other’s unique qualities.

In Mathematics, we have continued our multiplication & division unit- we have been multiplying and dividing by 3,6 and 9 using methods such as arrays, grouping and sharing. We have also used our fingers as a quick method to count in 9s and noticed patterns in the multiples. In English, we have been writing adverbial phrases related to our text ‘Escape from Pompeii’ by Christina Balit. Towards the end of the week, we wrote recounts of Mount Vesuvius erupting using rich vocabulary and powerful verbs. In whole class reading, we learnt how to infer using clues from the text.

In science we investigated which surface produced the most friction. We used skills such as predicting, concluding and evaluating to think like scientists. In PE we practiced skills such as dribbling the ball whilst moving and in different directions. In RE we learnt the significance of light in the story of diwali and made lanterns.

Because it has been anti-bullying week, we have considered how we can spread the power of good and celebrate everyone’s uniqueness. We created a jigsaw piece each, read a book and sang songs to reflect on us standing together to spread positivity and kindness.

Have an amazing weekend!
