What a whirlwind of a week we’ve had! From exploring our emotions to building miniature playgrounds, Class 2 has been incredibly busy learning, growing, and supporting one another. We kicked off the week by focusing on our well-being. This year’s theme was "This is My Place," and we spent time thinking about where we feel most at home and valued. Active Bodies, Active Minds, we hit the hall for sports activities to see firsthand how exercise helps our brains stay happy and sharp. We created a beautiful class paper chain. Each link represents a promise to include others and ensure everyone feels they truly belong in Class 2. Then the children designed wonderful posters showcasing the places where they feel they belong—from our classroom and family homes to their favourite after-school clubs. In English, we are still following everyone’s favourite bear! We’ve been sharpening our tools for a "Big Write" by practicing: past tense and time connectives (to keep our stories in order!), adjectives and expanded noun phrases to make our descriptions pop. We can't wait to share our final Paddington-inspired diary entries! In Maths, we’ve moved into the world of multiplication by learning to recognise and create equal groups. By Friday, we were already experts at adding those equal groups together! In DT we turned into mini-engineers! After studying the materials used in real-world playgrounds, we constructed our own equipment using pipe cleaners, straws, and card. In Science we investigated Autumn, specifically the science behind why leaves change their colours. In Geography we’ve officially crossed the finish line on our London unit and completed our end-of-unit assessments in RE. It has been a week full of "lightbulb moments" and wonderful teamwork. Well done, Class 2!
