We have really enjoyed learning about spring this week. Please talk about the signs of spring with your children. The children have painted flowers and have prepared our garden ready to plant bulbs, flowers and potatoes next week. Thank you to those of you who have donated compost and plants.

The children planted sunflower seeds yesterday and we are looking forward to watching them grow!

The children learned that plants like us need light, water, and caring for, to help them flourish.

The children have also enjoyed listening to traditional tales like Hansel and Gretel and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They have used masks to reenact the tales. They explored low, medium and high sounds with drums and xylophones.

In maths,  the reception children explored length and associated vocabulary.

Today, the children looked absolutely fantastic in their costumes to celebrate World Book Day.

Our story of the day was The Flower Thief. The children learned that wild flowers shouldn’t be picked as they are there for everyone to enjoy including bees and butterflies!

Enjoy your weekend!
