
Class 4 have enjoyed another scorching week of the Summer term. In preperation for SATs, year 5 and 6 have separated in maths to allow year 6 the opportunity to do some well-timed recapping of the topics that they are likely to be tested on. Meanwhile, year 5 have been introduced to the concept of ratio. Gaining a greater understanding of the langiage and making links to fractions has ensure great progress.
We have begun our independent writing relating to Beowulf. To this, we planned our legends based on his next battle by choosing a new location and beast for him to slay. The descriptive writing and varied punctuation makes each piece a joy to read and we will continue drafting and editing in the upcoming week.
In RE, we have been exploring how Zakat is the pillar of Islam relating to charity and researching the goals and aims of Islamic Relief. In Science, we have been looking at the development of humans through life and how our body changes from birth to old age.
