It has been a week to remember. We have enjoyed preparing for GreenPower and making sure our portfolios log all of the exciting steps along the way to our finished cars. On Friday, we test drove our cars after going through all the safety procedures and instructions. The year 6's truly had some great driving talent!
In mathematics, we finished our unit on algebra with great results on the end of block assessment. Many are looking forward to our new topic of 'shape' starting next week.
In English, we have continued exploring and reading Thief by Malorie Blackman. This involved writing our own chapter 4 with convincing dialogue with action beats showing Lydia trying to persuade the headteacher of her innocence in relation to stealing the sports cup.
With growing accuracy and articulation, we have begun learning the topic of sport in French. We can now say what sports we play and what sports we do.
On Friday, Year 6 created some wonderful art using rubbings from nature on plain cloth. Meanwhile, Year 5 made some great clay models of faces with great attention to detail and expression.
Topic for Talk - to support our focus on oracy, below is a question linked to our learning this week to discuss with your child.
What are you most looking forward to about GreenPower race day?
