What a wonderfully busy and productive week it has been in Class 3! In Maths, we continued our exploration of shapes by practicing drawing different polygons and learning how to sort regular and irregular shapes. The children also worked hard identifying lines of symmetry and investigating the properties of various 3D shapes. Meanwhile, our English lessons saw the inspiring conclusion of our stories based on the picture book A Stone for Sascha. The children did a fantastic job of elevating their writing by incorporating direct speech, weaving in subordinate clauses, and using a variety of coordinating conjunctions to create beautifully varied sentence structures.

Alongside our core subjects, the children engaged in plenty of hands-on learning and personal growth. We started the week with an exciting transition morning, where the children joined their new classes to participate in team-building activities, creative tasks, and important refreshers on our school values. In Science, we turned into botanists to learn about the fascinating world of seed dispersal, which included making and evaluating our very own paper seed spinners. In Computing, we took a step into programming by learning how to code a sprite to move and change direction on the screen. Finally, we wrapped up the week with some thoughtful discussions about relationships, exploring the different dynamics in our lives and reflecting on what truly makes a good, supportive relationship. Have a wonderful weekend!
