Welcome back to a brand-new term! It has been an absolute delight seeing the children return after half term, and we kicked off the week with so much excitement as everyone shared their holiday adventures with one another. Straight after settling in, we threw ourselves into our learning, starting with English where the children acted as proper editors by reviewing the work they completed before the break and having a go at rewriting and improving their own writing. In Maths, we have been exploring two-digit numbers and learning how to partition them into tens and ones, and the children are becoming remarkably confident at using part-whole models to show their mathematical thinking. We also launched a fantastic new Geography topic on our local area, examining aerial maps to explore our surroundings and successfully locating familiar landmarks including our school, the church, the Co-op, and the village hall. It really has been a brilliant first week back, and we are so proud of how enthusiastically the children have embraced their new learning!
